The Amphitheatre

The Arènes of Nîmes are a Roman amphitheatre. The building is built at the end of Ist century to entertain the population of Nîmes and its surroundings. During the Large invasions, it transformed into fortified village, the castrum arenae where the population will hide, then is through age until 1800s a district with its streets and its shops. In the 19 th century, the monument emerged then converted into arenas for racing bulls in 1863. They host some 20s of bull fighting and racing



The Maison Carrée

Built on a podium overlooking the forum, the economic and administrative heart of the Nîmes Antique, the Maison Carrée to Nîmes is the only temple of the ancient fully maintained.



The Pont du Gard

Camargue and Méditerranée
